With the deadline less than a week away, production has ramped up on the project. We ahve quickly gone from a barebones tech demo to a nearly full fledged game. Largely at this point it is just a matter of implementing the game mode, weapon physics, UI and sound. There are always improvements to be made to the gameplay however and so I have done another round of testing, noted issues I found and suggested fixes for them. We also decided we may not have time to implement the energy system I desgined for the advanced movement and so we have opted to revert to a more classic multi-jump system in which the player is able to jump once from the ground and then twice in the air before landing again, at which point this counter is reset. Its like the classic double jump but just a little more fun. Here are my latest testing notes:
