AHRI

The Nine-Tailed Fox

In Ahri's current lore she is depicted as a savage predator hiding behind an alluring visage who drains her victims of life to sustain herself. This is unfortunately not reflected in her abilities very well other than the fact that she has a charm and burst damage. This rework intends to rectify this by giving her a more ferocious, fast-paced kit that rewards skilled play with additional survivability, mobility, and damage output.

Abilities

Ahri_Essence_Theft_2.png

Essence Theft

Passive

Damaging an enemy with an ability grants a stack of Essence Theft. Minions grant one, monsters grant 2 and champions and epic monsters grant 3. Essence Theft increases your health regeneration, mana regeneration and movement speed by a small amount per stack. Acquiring a new stack of Essence Theft resets its duration and reduces the cooldown of all of your abilities by 0.1 seconds.

Notes: Ahri's current passive simply heals her every 9 last hits and every takedown. This gives her some sustain in lane and in fights but it encourages a more passive laning style since you know you will out-sustain your opponent. This new passive also gives the sustain we are used to but also grants mana, move speed and CDR to encourage more fast-paced, aggressive gameplay. The fact that you gain stacks per hit rather than per kill prompts you to Q through waves rather than carefully conserve mana and rewards you for good ability aiming in fights.

Ahri_Orb_of_Deception.png

Orb of Deception

Q

Ahri sends her orb in the target direction that deals magic damage to enemies hit. At maximum range, the orb homes back to her to deal the same in true damage to enemies hit.

Notes: Ahri's Q is a unique and iconic ability so can remain unchanged.

Ahri_Spirit_Rush.png

Spirit Rush

W

Ahri dashes to the target location a short distance away and then fires energy bolts to up to 3 nearby visible enemies, dealing magic damage.

Notes: Spirit Rush is demoted from an ultimate ability to a regular one as it never really felt very ultimate to begin with. A short dash and some random damage to a nearby target is certainly helpful but only because it comes with three charges which regenerate on kill and allows you to position to use your Q and E. Also, such an iconic mobile champion not having access to any mobility before level 6 made little sense and forced Ahri to play very passively before that point. Now Ahri can access her dash as soon as she likes, allowing for more aggressive play-making in lane.

Ahri_Charm.png

Charm

E

Ahri blows forth a kiss in the target direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit, knocking them down, and charming and slowing them by 65% for a duration. An enemy hit by Charm is rendered vulnerable for 3 seconds, taking 20% bonus damage from Ahri's abilities, including the Charm that triggered it.

Notes: Ahri's E is her most iconic ability and is the cornerstone of her kit, as such it will remain unchanged.

Ahri_Fox-Fire.png

Fox Fire

R

Ahri unleashes her true form, unfurling all 9 of her tails, causing each of them to conjure a magical flame and gaining movement speed. Reactivate this ability to launch a flame in a straight line in the target direction, this has no cast time. This ability ends after all 9 flames have been used or after 20 seconds. The flames explode on impact with an enemy or at the end of their range, dealing magic damage to all enemies in a small radius.

Notes: Ahri's old W and been upgraded into her new ultimate ability. As a basic ability it was very fire and forget, firing off projectiles which home in on random enemies is very uninteractive and effectively amounts to passive damage, meaning the only noteworthy part of the ability was a little 2 second move speed boost which was somewhat helpful for mobility. Transformed into an Ultimate however, this ability is much more impactful. Ahri now effectively goes into overdrive, granting herself movement speed for the full duration and allowing her to actively fire off blasts while moving will make her a serious team-fight threat once she hits level 6 rather than just a 1v1 bush-camping assassin. The fact that the damage from the blasts is AoE also rewards skilled play as hitting multiple enemies grants more Essence Theft stacks.
